Foxy joined our little family in August of 2017.  Just before we departed on the ’17 Baja Ha Ha cruisers rally. Baja Ha Ha

We lost our beloved Carolina Dog, Rocket in June, 2017.  From the beginning, Foxy had big doggie boots to fill.

She was 3 years old when we got her.  She was rescued from the San Bernardino animal shelter in San Bernardino, California.
This particular animal shelter will put down dogs. A great organization constantly monitors the shelter for Carolina Dogs and found Foxy needing a home.

While she had a rough couple of years before us, we adopted her and her ‘issues’.  At first, she was extremely distrustful of people who reach for her… especially male.

We’ve worked with her and although it’s taken some time, she’s now a completely different dog.
She’s happy, healthy, energetic and completely loyal.  The period of time it takes her to warm up to people gets less and less each time.  And for Foxy, once you’re in the pack… you’re in for life.

She’s really a loveable, snuggly dog and her good qualities vastly outweigh her fading issues.
One of the best things about cruising with Foxy, is that she needs to be able to walk, run and explore.  Luckily here in Mexico, we’ve found many, many places to take her where she can run and play.

Welcome aboard little Foxy!

  2. Beautiful website. We have a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 35. We have only had it a few months and are considering upsizing. We really like the features of the Catalina Morgan 440. We read that she has a tough time sailing into the wind and can only get to 60 degrees. What has your experience been with into wind sailing? We wish you wll the best in your current and future adventures.

    1. Our boat came with a 135 genoa and we did have problems going to weather until we rigged the perfect barber hauler setup. The sheet needed to be trimmed in a place that we couldn’t so the barber hauler now pulls the sails leech perfectly. With this better trim, we get a much better sail shape and can now obtain about 40°-50° to weather.
